IT and IT security for hospitals
A hospital never closes. Neither does its IT. We run network and security around the clock and detect attacks before they reach clinical operations.

What makes hospital IT different
In a hospital, patient care and IT are closely linked. The hospital information system, the lab, radiology and many medical devices depend on the network. If it fails, staff fall back on paper, and the emergency department may have to stop taking patients.
Medical devices often cannot be patched or changed at will. That is why they belong in separate network segments that are monitored.
Duties from law and supervision
Since 2022, every hospital has to protect its IT according to the state of the art, not only the large ones. Hospitals with 30,000 or more inpatient cases per year count as critical infrastructure. They must operate an attack detection system (SzA) and prove their measures regularly. Many use the industry-specific security standard (B3S) for medical care as a benchmark.
The page IT for Critical Infrastructures explains thresholds and duties in detail.
Operations from the NOC
Our NOC monitors network, servers, WLAN and firewalls around the clock. We maintain the active components, segment the network and keep the documentation up to date. We connect a hospital group with several sites one site at a time.
The page Network Operations Center (NOC) describes all building blocks in detail.
Attack detection in the SOC
Our SOC detects attacks on IT and medical technology networks, assesses them and initiates countermeasures. For KRITIS hospitals we implement the attack detection system in line with the requirements of the BSI and operate it ourselves. In the end, a person decides what happens.
The page Security Operations Center (SOC) describes all building blocks in detail.
Why we name no customers
This page names no customers. Hospitals rarely name their IT service providers in public, and every name shows attackers a possible way in. That is why we only state the sector and our numbers. In a personal conversation we will tell you more about how we work.
